Tempo SC Ultra

Tempo SC Ultra, manufactured by Bayer, is a professional insecticide that delivers a quick kill to listed pests such as carpenter ants and ticks. This product contains a suspension concentrate formulation, which provides the killing power of a pesticide powder but in liquid form. In this liquid formulation, Tempo SC Ultra makes for a convenient use with less mess and less hassle.

Tempo SC Ultra contains beta-cyfluthrin 11.8%, a synthetic pyrethroid that mimics the killing effect of pyrethrum which naturally is extracted from the chrysanthemum plant.

When insects ingest or come into contact with the Beta-Cyfluthrin in Tempo SC Ultra, it binds to their nerve cells. This causes over-stimulation of the nervous system and impairment of essential activities, such as feeding and motion, leading to death of the insect.

How to Use

• Step 1: Inspect the area to see where your target pest is active and note those places as this is where the Tempo SC Ultra spray treatment will be focused. Determine how much Tempo SC Ultra you will need for application by measuring and calculating the total length x width of the treatment area to get the square footage. The rate for Tempo SC is 0.27 (0.025% dilution) to 0.54 fl. oz.(0.05% dilution) in a gallon of water to treat 1,000 sq. ft. Use the higher concentration for severe infestations.
• Step 2: In your selected sprayer, fill halfway with water then add in the appropriate amount of Tempo SC Ultra according to your calculations and then fill the rest of the way with water. Close the sprayer lid and shake well and you are ready to apply.
• Step 3: Apply the Tempo SC Ultra mixture as a spot, crack, crevice, and perimeter spray wherever the target insect has been discovered and where they have been found to nest, forage or harbor. Re-apply Tempo SC Ultra every 7 to 10 days if needed to treat your pest problem.

Where to Use

Tempo SC Ultra can be used both indoors and outdoors. Outdoors, use Tempo SC as a perimeter barrier treatment to the soil, turf, and substrate next to buildings. Treating the foundation of your home, walls, around doors, windows, and soffit areas is also useful because many insects hide in these areas. Indoors, you can spray along baseboards and around cabinets and corners.

When to Use

Apply Tempo SC Ultra when you have a pest problem either indoors or outdoors. Peak times for pest activity is Spring through Fall.

Safety Information

Tempo SC Ultra is safe to use around pets and children when applied according to label directions. Where the proper PPE (gloves, long-sleeved clothing, protective eyewear, safety mask) before applying. Wait until the material has dried before entering into the treated area. If it’s necessary to enter prior to material drying, wear gloves and clothes to protect the skin from direct contact with the leftover residues and to wash the skin and clothing if contact takes place.

Special Considerations

Agitate Tempo SC Ultra regularly during application so it doesn’t settle for best results when spraying.

Product Drawbacks

Tempo SC Ultra is not meant to be used as a space spray. Limit indoor applications to crack and crevice treatment.
